Current Activity. This column indicates whether a Changer component is currently processing. If an ‘X’ is marked in any of the boxes in this column, the corresponding Changer component is currently processing. Changer components should only be processed one at a time.
Current Activity. Every five years, as part of the pretreatment program, MCES reviews the discharge limitations, including mercury, that it places on the users of the MDS. Based on the results of the evaluation, the limits that dischargers to the MDS are required to meet may need to be changed. The last review occurred in 1996, and resulted in a lowering of the mercury limit for users from 100 micrograms per liter (μg/l) to 2 μg/l. MCES is currently conducting this evaluation as part of the pretreatment program requirements and is scheduled to complete the study by September 30, 2001.
