Crimes Clause Samples
The "Crimes" clause defines the consequences and procedures that apply if a party to the agreement is found to have committed a criminal act. Typically, this clause outlines what constitutes a relevant crime, such as fraud, embezzlement, or other offenses that could impact the contractual relationship, and may specify actions like immediate termination of the contract or the right to seek damages. Its core function is to protect parties from being bound to individuals or entities engaged in illegal activities, thereby allocating risk and maintaining the integrity of the contractual arrangement.
