Common use of Continuous Service Clause in Contracts

Continuous Service. ‌ Continuous service shall be employment unbroken by separation from COUNTY service, other than by military, Peace Corps, paid leave or UNION Leave in accordance with Article 4. Time spent on other types of authorized leave will not count as time of continuous service, except that employees returning from such leave, or employees who were laid off, shall be entitled to credit for service prior to the leave or layoff.

Continuous Service. ‌ Continuous service shall be employment service unbroken by separation from the COUNTY service, other than by military, Peace Corps, paid vacation, protected disability leave, approved occupational injury up to six (6) months following separation or ASSOCIATION leave or UNION Leave in accordance with Article 43, Section 3.5. Time spent on other types of authorized leave will not count as time of continuous service, service except that employees returning from such leave, or employees who were laid off, shall be entitled to credit for service prior to the leave or layoff.

Time spent on other types of authorized leave will not count as time part of continuous service, service except that employees returning from such leave, or employees who were laid off, and subsequently recalled to their prior position, shall be entitled to receive credit for service prior to the leave or layoffleave.
