CONTINUANCE OF LONGEVITY PAY. Notwithstanding Section 4.161 of the Los Angeles Administrative Code, a Police Officer will be allowed to continue to receive longevity pay for a period of six months following an initial notice of unsatisfactory service. If during the six-month period the Police Officer does not achieve a satisfactory standard of service, the Chief of Police shall certify to the City Controller that the employee’s service has been unsatisfactory, and the payment of longevity pay for the employee will cease until such time as the Chief of Police again certifies that the employee has achieved a satisfactory standard of service.
