Construction Engineering, Material Testing, and Material Documentation a. Attend preconstruction meeting with two staff members (Project Manager and Resident Engineer) and prepare and distribute meeting minutes
b. Provide for Construction Engineering, Material Testing, and Material Documentation for the subject project in accordance with IDOT Local Agency, MFT Funded construction services project and procedures
c. Provide for documenting contract quantities in accordance with IDOT Local agency MFT funded criteria
d. Provide the following services:
i. Observation of the work and the contractor’s operations for general compliance with the plans and specifications as construction proceeds, but the Engineer does not guarantee the performance of the contract by the Contractor
ii. Maintain a daily record of the contractor’s activities throughout construction including sufficient information to permit verification of the nature and cost of changes in plans and authorized extra work
iii. Perform field concrete testing including air, slump, and strength specimens. Subconsultant Milano & ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ will provide laboratory strength testing and reporting.
iv. Subconsultant Milano & Grunloh to provide geotechnical lab and field nuclear density and moisture testing and reporting.
e. Prepare and process pay estimates and Change Order forms
f. Provide record drawings indicating “as-built” locations and elevations of storm sewers and drainage structures. These will be provided in hand-written “red-line” format on hard copy plans
g. Construction and materials documentation, and paperwork to be completed in accordance with IDOT Local Agency, MFT Funded standards and guidelines
h. Review shop drawings and transmit RFI’s if needed to City and Engineer of Record
i. The estimated fees and Scope of Services assumes a construction start date of September 3, 2024 and are based on a March 31, 2025 substantial completion date and April 18, 2025 final completion date per the project Contract Special Provisions for construction operations time frame, and for Engineering Closeout services through July 31, 2025, which includes project documentation and 80 hours of project closeout time.
