Consensus on Recommendation Clause Samples

The "Consensus on Recommendation" clause establishes that any recommendations made under the agreement must be reached through a process of collective agreement among the relevant parties. In practice, this means that before a recommendation is formally adopted or acted upon, all designated stakeholders or committee members must discuss and agree on the proposed course of action, often requiring unanimous or majority approval. This clause ensures that recommendations reflect the collective judgment of the group, promoting fairness and shared responsibility, and helps prevent unilateral decisions that may not have broad support.

The Selection Committee will make every effort to reach consensus on its recommendation in the Report, which shall remain confidential. Where consensus cannot be reached, the report should include minority or individual recommendations of the Committee members.
