Completing the Self. Assessment
i) The evaluation cycle begins with the Educator reviewing District and School goals, as well as receiving broad guidelines from their Evaluator about which standards and curriculum areas to focus on.
ii) The self-assessment includes:
(a) An analysis of evidence of student learning and growth for students under the Educator’s responsibility. Note: Evaluators must provide data related to MCAS and other district common assessments,
(b) An assessment of practice against each of the four Performance Standards of effective practice using the district’s rubric.
(c) Proposed goals to pursue:
(1) At least one goal directly related to improving the Educator’s own professional practice.
(2) At least one goal directly related to improving student learning.
Completing the Self. Assessment
1. The evaluation cycle begins with the teacher completing and submitting to the primary evaluator a self-assessment by the 2nd Friday in October (the 4th Friday in October in the first year of this agreement) or within four weeks after the Educator’s first day of employment if the teacher begins employment after September 15th.
2. The self-assessment includes:
a. An analysis of evidence of student learning, growth and achievement for students under the Educator’s responsibility.
b. An assessment of practice against each of the four Performance Standards of effective practice using the district’s rubric.
c. Proposed goals to pursue: At least one goal directly related to improving the teachers own professional practice. At least one goal directly related to improving student learning.
