COMPANY FUNCTION. 3-1 The Union recognizes that it is the function of the Company to: (a) Maintain order, discipline and efficiency and to this end, Company Rules and Safety Instructions will be issued to all employees. (b) Hire, classify, reclassify, suspend, transfer, discharge for proper cause, discipline, and relieve employees from duty because of lack or decrease of work, or for any other legitimate reasons, shop methods and processes. (c) Manage generally the industrial enterprise in which the Company is engaged and, without restricting the generality of the foregoing, determine the number and location of plants, the products to be manufactured, services to be rendered, schedules of production, kinds and locations of machines and tools to be used, the engineering and designing of products, and the control of materials and parts to be incorporated in products processed. 3-2 The Company agrees that these functions outlined in Clause 3-1(a) and (b) will be exercised in a manner consistent with the provisions of this Collective Agreement and a claim that the Company has exercised any of these rights in a manner inconsistent with any of the provisions of this Agreement shall be subject to the grievance procedure outlined in Article 5.
