Commuted Allowance. Commuted allowances agreed on a case‑by‑case basis with the Employee concerned and/or the relevant Union may be paid in substitution for allowances provided for elsewhere in this Agreement, in circumstances where the requirements of the relevant work unit result in members working overtime and/or on‑call. An Employee must not receive less as a commuted allowance over the period that the commuted allowance is paid, than the Employee would have received had the allowance(s) being commuted been paid over that period.
Commuted Allowance. Employees who as at 19 December 1997 were Employees of the Department and in receipt of a commuted allowance will be entitled to continue to receive a commuted allowance in accordance with the terms of this Agreement.
Commuted Allowance. The employer may authorise a commuted amount for reimbursement of costs for motor vehicles or any other conveyance belonging to an employee.

Commuted Allowance. TAXI INVESTIGATION OFFICERS, PASSENGER SERVICES 15.1 Clause 15 of this Agency Specific Agreement shall be read in conjunction with Clause 21Shift Work Allowance of the Award and is made pursuant to Clause 22 (3)(c) – Overtime Allowance - of the Award and Clause 25Commuted Allowances – of the General Agreement, and only applies to Investigation Officers in the Passenger Services Business Unit nominated by the employer. 15.2
Commuted Allowance. 4.7.1 The introduction of any commuted allowance in lieu of overtime, on call or shift allowances shall be negotiated between the Union and the Employer. On the request of either party the other party is obliged to enter into negotiations for such arrangements.
Commuted Allowance. 17.3.1 The parties agree, for operational purposes, nominated Visitor Service Officers shall receive an allowance of 20% of their gross annual salary in return for overtime rates and day shift penalties when required to work on nominated rosters, Monday to Sunday, 365 days per year. 17.3.2 The commuted allowance is paid during periods of annual leave and long service leave and as part of any retiring allowance.
Commuted Allowance. 11.4.4.1 Where agreed between SEWL and the employee, payment to Staff in specific positions for overtime, availability allowance or for working across the week may be commuted to an annual allowance in lieu of payment as experienced under this clause. This annual allowance will be in addition to the Staff member’s base salary, will be included for superannuation purposes and will be included for the purpose of calculating payment for annual leave, long service leave, sick leave and other forms of paid leave. An employee who is in receipt of a commuted allowance shall not be entitled to any other payment of overtime or time off in lieu, which has been commuted under this clause. 11.4.4.2 Any additional unanticipated mandatory overtime, payable to employees in receipt of a commuted allowance shall be based on the employee’s base salary. 11.4.4.3 Where a staff member is in receipt of a commuted allowance and accepts a new position, the salary and conditions of that new position will apply. 11.4.4.4 Where an employee is no longer required to carry out these duties and where major changes occur that alter these entitlements, the Change Mechanism provisions of this Agreement (clause 4) will apply.
Commuted Allowance. (1) A commuted all purpose allowance is to be paid fortnightly in lieu of penalties payable to employees as provided in this agreement in Clause 10 - Shift and Penalty Payments and Clause 11- Overtime. The commuted allowance is payable to employees for working 26 Saturdays, 26 Sundays, 62 day shifts, 63 night shifts and 5 public holidays. The commuted allowance will be paid on the computer operators‟ base hourly rate. (2) The computer operator may choose to have the commuted allowance paid in either of two ways. (a) Option 1: A commuted allowance of 39.59% per fortnight, providing for 17 shifts of annual leave at 11.5 hours per shift. (b) Option 2: A commuted allowance of 37.85% per fortnight, providing for 20 shifts of annual leave at 11.5 hours per shift. Under this option employees substitute the payment for public holidays not worked for additional annual leave. (3) Once electing to receive either of the allowance options the operator is committed to that particular allowance for a period of twelve (12) months and will only have the ability to seek transfer to the other option on an annual basis. (4) The commuted allowance is paid in lieu of annual leave loading when taking annual leave. (5) The commuted allowance is payable on Personal Leave. (6) The commuted allowance is not payable on Long Service Leave. (7) The commuted allowance is not payable on Parental (Maternity) Leave.
Commuted Allowance. 15.3.1 The parties agree, for operational purposes, nominated Taxi Investigation Officers shall receive an allowance of 15% of their gross annual salary in return for being required to: a) work shift work, and a rostered nine-day fortnight; b) work up to five (5) hours unpaid overtime per fortnight; c) work a roster without shift penalties that includes fifteen weekend days, either Saturdays or Sundays, and two Public Holidays per calendar year; d) home-garage government vehicles and start and finish work at their home residence; and e) maintain and provide on request a record of hours specified by management to be worked, detailing start and finishing times, duties undertaken and any unscheduled finishing times. 15.3.2 All hours worked in excess of the hours referred to in this paragraph are to be paid in accordance with Clause 22Overtime Allowance of the Award 15.3.3 An employee who is authorised to work a percentage of their working hours in field investigations involving shift work shall receive an equal percentage of the commuted shift allowance. 15.3.4 The commuted allowance is paid during periods of annual and long service leave and as part of any retiring allowance.
