Common use of Commitment to Workforce Training Clause in Contracts

Commitment to Workforce Training. Walnut shall contribute the sum of $250,000.00 to a workforce training partner, to be selected by agreement of the parties at a later date, for the purpose of providing workforce training to City residents (the “Walnut Training Contribution”), with preferences for low-income residents who live in the immediate surrounding communities. The Walnut Training Contribution may be utilized either for construction training and/or for skills training for potential employees of the users who will be located in the Walnut Projects or for jobs in demand throughout Oakland. Walnut shall pay the Walnut Training Contribution in five annual installments of fifty-thousand dollars ($50,000.00), with the first installment being made within thirty (30) days of the issuance of the first building permit for a new Walnut Project within the UC-MU District, and Walnut shall make annual contributions of fifty-thousand dollars ($50,000.00) on each anniversary of the issuance of such building permit until Walnut has paid the Walnut Training Contribution in full.
