COMMITMENT TO EQUALITY. 10.1 The Governing Body agrees to share the Council’s commitment to equality. One of the Council’s priorities is “to ensure that all residents can take part in the life of the city” which is supported through actions to “work towards equal opportunities for all”.
10.2 The Council recognises that inequality, disadvantage and discrimination exist in society. It aims to ensure that no one who deals with the Council receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of: - • age • race • ethnicity • mobility of lifestyle • religion • marital status • gender • sexual orientation • physical or mental disability • HIV status (HIV status is included specifically as this is an area where discrimination is known to occur).
10.3 The Council welcomes and values the diversity (of age, race, ethnicity, etc) present in York and is committed to making its services, facilities and resources accessible and responsive to the people and communities of York.
COMMITMENT TO EQUALITY. Wrexham has developed a Strategic Equality Plan and PSB partners have signed up to this plan. It has been developed in partnership with a wide range of local partners and reflects the North Wales Equality Objectives. The Wrexham PSB well-being assessment also highlights the findings of the strategic Equality Plan. An executive summary of the Strategic Equality Plan is available at: Wrexham PSB support the Welsh Language Act, 1993. Each partner of the PSB has their own Welsh Language policy that they work to, and the PSB as a body has adopted the principal that in conduct of its public business in Wrexham and across Wales, the English and the Welsh languages will be treated on a basis of equality.
