Common use of College Financial Support Clause in Contracts

College Financial Support. 20.17 Where a Faculty Member’s attendance and successful completion of a professional development activity - including orientation and occupational upgrading - is a requirement of the College, the College shall pay any tuition costs associated with the participation of the Faculty Member in the activity. The College shall also pay the tuition costs associated with the participation of a Faculty Member in a College-initiated professional development activity including College courses where approved by the College. All benefits of this Collective Agreement shall remain in effect during this participation. However, where the Faculty Member is in receipt of any remuneration from sources external to the College for the professional development activity, the College shall reduce its payment to the Faculty Member so that the total remuneration to the Faculty Member does not exceed the amount of the Faculty Member’s normal salary.
