CHORISTERS. Choristers may be required, during a performance (including the half-hour call) to rehearse vocal excerpts or excerpts from the performance for safety or artistic maintenance to a maximum of one (1) call not to exceed fifteen
CHORISTERS. It is agreed that Clauses 30:05(A) and (B) do not apply to choristers unless there are fewer than five (5) choristers in the photograph.
CHORISTERS. If a Chorus of less than the aforementioned is used for any particular performance, all Choristers in that performance must be Artists covered by the terms of the Agreement, and that performance may not be counted toward the season minimum as described in Article 5, except in the case of an equally split chorus as outlined in Article 5.1. Furthermore, when these additional performance opportunities arise, such offers will be made on a fair and equitable basis to all Regular Choristers, and then Supplementary Choristers, thus assuring proper distribution of said opportunities.
CHORISTERS. CORPS DANCERS agree to remain after the final orchestra dress rehearsal call in order to go over notes, curtain calls and last-minute changes. The first fifteen (15) minutes after the call will be gratis, and additional time will be paid at the overtime rate.
CHORISTERS. In the event the Employer utilizes Artists other than APPRENTICES, Studio Artists and students in the Chautauqua School of Music and Chautauqua Opera Conservatory to perform as Choristers, such CHORISTERS shall be employed on AGMA Individual Artist’s Contracts either on a weekly basis or on a single performance basis pursuant to the terms and conditions as hereinafter set forth:
(a) PERFORMANCE WEEK
(1) COMPENSATION: CHORISTERS may be engaged on a weekly basis and required by the EMPLOYER to give seven (7) performances per week and shall be compensated as follows: As of Summer 2021 Summer 2022 Summer 2023 Summer 2024 PER WEEK $962 $962 $981 $1,001 PER DIEM $130 $130 $130 $130 Full per diem payment for each weekly ARTIST shall be made in addition to the ARTIST's contractual compensation when the ARTIST is required to perform 55 miles outside of the EMPLOYER's city of origination and is required to remain overnight. When the EMPLOYER provides (or is prepared to provide) suitable lodging, EMPLOYER may satisfy the per diem requirement herein by the payment of an amount equal to the daily meal allowance provided for in Paragraph 21 hereof. This per diem or meal allowance is in addition to any compensation to which the ARTIST is entitled. If the CHORISTER is required to perform in excess of seven (7) performances per week he/she shall be compensated for the additional performances upon a pro rata basis of the individual contractual compensation.
CHORISTERS.
(a) ENGAGEMENT OF CHORISTERS
(1) CHORISTERS may be engaged on a per performance basis. A CHORISTER engaged as an understudy shall receive additional compensation, at least equal to the minimum per performance rate for the role for each performance in which he/she sings the role in addition to the ARTIST’s existing contractual compensation.
(2) A DANCE CAPTAIN as defined in Paragraph 30(a)(1) below, shall be appointed for all productions for which a CHOREOGRAPHER has been engaged to choreograph CHORISTERS unless the CHOREOGRAPHER or a BALLET MISTRESS/ MASTER is engaged through the last performance. The DANCE CAPTAIN will receive one (1) single performance fee in addition to the ARTIST’s regular compensation for performing as the DANCE CAPTAIN.
(3) All costume fittings shall be deemed to be forty-five (45) minutes in duration or the length of the call whichever is greater. OPERA THEATRE shall provide a sign-in/sign-out sheet for ARTISTS in the costume shop for documentation of the length of the call.
CHORISTERS. On or before May 1st of each year, the Employer shall provide to the local AGMA Chorus Committee a list of all Choristers who have not been engaged by the Employer in the past six (6) seasons (not counting the 2020/21 season). The Employer will contact all Choristers on the list via email to solicit the Chorister’s availability to remain on the Current Roster. The Employer will notify the local AGMA Chorus Committee of any Chorister who does not respond within ten (10) business days of inquiry. Any Chorister who does not respond within thirty (30) days of inquiry will be removed from the Current Roster.
CHORISTERS. All fully vested CHORISTERS will receive recognition as such in all Portland Opera programs.
CHORISTERS. In all situations in which a chorister is asked to participate in an event, the chorister will be paid no less than the chorus per performance rate, which will include a two- hour rehearsal call. In these situations, the three-hour minimum call requirement will be waived.
CHORISTERS. CHORISTERS shall be engaged on a weekly basis or on a single performance basis, on the terms hereinafter set forth:

If there are fewer than four (4) mainstage opera productions in the spring and fall seasons or if any of the four (4) mainstage opera productions are presented as a concert version (as opposed to a fully staged production) then Choristers shall be paid at the per performance rate for the concerts.
(b) The overtime rate for CHORISTERS shall be one and one-half (1½) times the CHORISTER’s hourly rehearsal rate.
(c) A CHORISTER shall receive their regular hourly rehearsal rate when rehearsing with the auxiliary chorus.
(d) If a CHORISTER works more than a combined rehearsal/performance total of six (6) hours per day or thirty (30) hours per week, overtime compensation shall be provided at one and one-half (1½) times the applicable hourly rehearsal rates. (A week is defined as each Monday through Sunday.) For the purpose of calculating total daily or weekly hours, a performance call shall be computed as a minimum of four (4) hours in length including the time specified in this Agreement for dressing and undressing and the application and removal of makeup. No rehearsals shall be scheduled within two (2) hours of any ARTIST’s makeup call prior to a dress rehearsal or performance, except in emergency cases or unless required by the ARTIST.
(e) All compensation shall be calculated and paid in fifteen (15) minute increments, which shall be the equivalent of one-quarter (¼) of the applicable straight time overtime or hourly rate.
