Change Control System Clause Samples
A Change Control System clause establishes a formal process for managing and approving modifications to a project's scope, deliverables, or requirements. Typically, it outlines the steps for submitting change requests, evaluating their impact on cost and schedule, and obtaining necessary approvals before implementation. This clause ensures that all changes are documented, reviewed, and agreed upon by relevant parties, thereby preventing unauthorized alterations and maintaining project control.
Change Control System. The Construction Manager shall establish and implement a change control system. All proposed changes shall first be described in detail in writing by the requesting party. The requesting party shall submit detailed information to the Construction Manager for evaluation concerning the costs and time adjustments, if any, necessary to perform the proposed changed work. The Construction Manager shall discuss the proposed change with the appropriate Subcontractor and endeavor to determine the Subcontractor’s basis for the cost to perform the work and the effect, if any, on the applicable GMP. The Construction Manager shall make a recommendation to the City pursuant to this Article 8 prior to the City’s acceptance of all change requests.

The requesting Party shall submit detailed information to the Job Order Contractor for evaluation concerning the costs and time adjustments, if any, necessary to perform the proposed changed Work. The Job Order Contractor shall discuss the proposed change with the appropriate Subcontractor and endeavor to determine the Subcontractor’s basis for the cost to perform the Work and the effect, if any, on the applicable Job Order. The Job Order Contractor shall make a recommendation to the City pursuant to this Article 12 prior to the City’s acceptance of all change requests.
