Common use of CHAIRS AND PROGRAM COORDINATORS Clause in Contracts

CHAIRS AND PROGRAM COORDINATORS. ‌ (a) The Employer agrees to establish, maintain and continue the positions of chair and coordinator agreed to at LMRC unless there are demonstrable reasons for discontinuing the position(s). (b) Whenever a vacancy arises for a chair it shall be filled by the following process: (i) all faculty members of the discipline(s) or program(s) or closest related discipline(s) or program(s) shall be eligible to vote for chair; (ii) all regular faculty members of the discipline(s) or program(s) or closest related discipline(s) or program(s) shall be eligible to be elected as chairs; (iii) normally, the chair shall be elected for a three-year term. However, alternate terms of service may be agreed to by the parties; (iv) the administrator responsible shall offer an appointment to the faculty member(s) so chosen; (c) (i) vacancies for program coordinators will be filled in accordance with procedures described in Article 4.02;
