The Carpools clause establishes guidelines and expectations for shared transportation arrangements among individuals, typically within an organization or group. It may outline how participants are selected, how costs such as fuel or parking are divided, and the responsibilities of drivers and passengers regarding scheduling and conduct. This clause helps ensure fairness, safety, and clarity in carpooling arrangements, reducing misunderstandings and promoting efficient, cooperative travel.
CARPOOLS. A carpool means a vehicle:
a. with two or more City employees, originating from the same general geographic area, or along a logical travel-to-work corridor; and
b. whose destinations are at or near the same work location; and
c. who travel together a minimum of 50% of the trip. ( Said percentage limitation may be waived by the EBD on a case-by-case basis for reasonable causes.) Parking for Carpools shall be in designated lots only.
CARPOOLS. Vehicles with two or more City employees, coming from the same general geographic area (homes of employees within a 7-mile radius), or along a logical travel-to-work corridor, whose destinations are at or near the same work location, and who travel together a minimum of 50% of the trip. Said percentage limitation may be waived by the Commuter Services Office on a case-by-case basis for reasonable causes. Parking for Carpools shall be in designated lots only.
CARPOOLS. The Employer and Union encourage the use of and participation in carpools.
CARPOOLS. Employee requests for change from one letter shift to another letter shift within the same rotating shift arrangement to get into a carpool will be considered in problem cases which do not involve violations of shift preference or any other Contract provision.
