CARGO TRANSFER Clause Samples

The Cargo Transfer clause defines the terms and conditions under which cargo may be transferred from one vessel to another during the course of a shipment. Typically, this clause outlines the procedures for arranging such transfers, including notification requirements, responsibilities for costs, and the allocation of risk during the transfer process. For example, it may specify that the shipper must inform the carrier in advance if a transfer is needed, and clarify who is liable for any loss or damage occurring during the operation. The core function of this clause is to ensure that all parties understand their obligations and liabilities during cargo transfers, thereby minimizing disputes and ensuring smooth logistics operations.
