Common use of Building Information Modeling Clause in Contracts

Building Information Modeling. The Project Architect shall utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) authoring software and BIM based design processes to produce model(s) for this project including all structure, walls, doors, openings, and mechanical, electrical, plumbing equipment/distribution systems. The BIM model(s) shall be utilized for all formal design reviews and presentations (Schematic, Design Development and Final Construction Documents). The BIM software shall be compliant with Industry Foundation Class (IFC) file format.

BIM model(s) shall services include modeling for the design and preliminary coordination of building elements and will aid in the generation of contract documents. Additional BIM goals and uses for the CM or Owner will be utilized for all formal design reviews and presentations (Schematic, Design Development and Final Construction Documents).
