Behavior Guidelines for Conduct. Grand Rapids Community College has the following expectations of College staff, including but not limited to the following:
1. Provide a safe work environment.
2. Promote continuous improvement.
3. Establish consistent operating standards.
4. Protect individual rights and well being.
5. Protect College property.
6. Fulfill legal responsibilities.
7. Arrive on time and prepared to work at the beginning of the workday.
8. Dress appropriately for the position held. Some employee conduct does not support these objectives. There is no effective method of pre-determining the seriousness or effect of any one violation of GRCC’s policies or of making an exhaustive list of all possible violations of policy. Although some violations may be more severe than other violations, repeated violations or a combination of violations may result in termination of employment. However, the College will adhere to a fair and equitable process for terminating employees who have demonstrated an unwillingness or inability to abide by GRCC or departmental policies.
