Battalion Chief. When an employee who is classified as a Captain is temporarily detailed to perform all duties of a Battalion Chief for one (1) hour or more, such employee shall be paid the base rate, and any premiums, if applicable, of the Battalion Chief classification for the hours worked at the hourly rate.

Battalion Chief. To qualify for the rank of Battalion Chief, an employee must be a Captain immediately preceding the time the opening is posted. The employee must also have successfully completed Company Officer I, II and III or its equivalent and additionally be certified as a Fire Service Instructor and Incident Safety Officer within one (1) year of being awarded the position in order to receive the stipend.
