Automatic Control Service Type. The Automatic Control Service Type reaction of a certain Technical Unit is determined by the Grid Voltage and by the Technical Unit’s capacity to react to it according to its relative Sensitivity Coefficient (αeq). MVAr’s requested are considered to be MVAr’s that are produced or absorbed when the Grid Voltage deviates from Vstartup (as defined in the present Annex). Vstartup is the average Grid Voltage value of the quarter hour following the quarter hour during which the unit started up for the last time (meaning the last moment in time where the Technical Unit’s Pmeasured started to exceed its Minimum Active Power Threshold in Injection, in Offtake or in Compensator Mode (Pmin in Figure 2) as agreed in Annex 1). Vstartup is also reinitialized at the quarter-hour following the quarter-hour in which a manual Setpoint is requested using the Grid Voltage measured at this quarter-hour. Vstartup, together with αeq characterize the Technical Unit’s droop curve. Figure 2: Example of calculation of Vstartup in function of the evolution of P(t) To avoid propagations of errors when computing the Reactive Power Requested, 𝑄𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑙 and Vstartup are also initialized everyday at 00:00 for Technical Units whose Active Power injection or offtake is above the Minimum Active Power Threshold in Injection, in Offtake or in Compensator Mode at this time, using respectively the Reactive Power and the Grid Voltage measured during the first quarter-hour of each day.
