Asynchronous Learning. Asynchronous learning is a common online format that allows multiple students to take a class concurrently, yet participate at times that are convenient for them. Similar to a live class, asynchronous classes have defined start and end dates (i.e., March 1-14). As such, it is the responsibility of the student to participate in the class and complete it while the class is in session.
