Association Discussions. The Board will invite the Association to participate in preliminary discussions prior to making any decision regarding a reduction-in-force. When the Board decides it is necessary to reduce the number of teachers in the District, it shall seek to discuss reduction in staff with the Association prior to taking final action thereon and, where feasible, to provide the Association with an opportunity to suggest alternatives to such reduction-in-staff. Such discussions shall serve to fulfill the District’s obligation to engage in good faith bargaining regarding reduction-in-force, to the extent such bargaining may be required under the law.
