Assignment of Field Trips. Field trips will be assigned by the dispatcher using seniority by bus locations, after the scheduling of the forty (40) hour workweek is completed. Field trip work that exceeds the forty (40) hour scheduled workweek will be assigned by seniority.

Full time school bus drivers employed by the Board shall have priority in applying for extracurricular and field trip assignments to be made during the drivers’ off-duty hours or when a permanent substitute is available, except when the following result in no cost to the District:
Assignment of Field Trips. The Transportation Supervisor shall maintain three rosters of all regular bus drivers requesting field trips, in order of seniority.

Assignment of Field Trips. 13:05.1 Field trips are defined as any approved transportation activity other than AM/PM, contracted Kindergarten, Pre-school, Career Center, and Special Education routes. Field trips will be posted in the Transportation Department by Trip Board for the week following the field trip meeting.

Everyone with hours available will receive a trip before a second trip will be awarded. If a driver does not sign up for any field trips, they forfeit their chance. Each driver can take field trips as long as their weekly hours do not exceed 40 hours per week. Additional hours can be assigned by the Director as needed, but to accommodate extra hours, regular time may have to be scheduled off to keep hours below 40.

Regularly scheduled field trips except for agricultural and van field trips shall be assigned on a rotating basis, beginning with the most senior driver, and continuing in order of seniority, to those drivers who have indicated their willingness to accept a field assignment by signing the list described in Section 9.0511.
