Assigned Supervision. The Principal may assign each Teacher not more than one-half (1/2) class period per day for one
(1) semester in any school year to supervision of non-classroom areas within the building: foyers, hallways, commons, and study halls Assignments shall be rotated on a regular basis to insure equitability. Teachers assigned to student supervision in the commons area or study halls under this Article will serve as secondary supervisors with primary supervision being provided as defined in Article 6, Section J of this Article. The Principal shall notify each Teacher of the specific assignment area and duties in writing prior to the implementation of the assigned supervision program.
Assigned Supervision. Substitute teachers shall not be assigned supervision duties before the instructional day on the first day of the assignment.
Assigned Supervision. Effective September each full time teacher shall be assigned a maximum of minutes of supervision per five (5) day week. It is understood that the maximum of minutes of supervision per five (5) day week may be averaged over a two (2) week period. No single week in the two (2) week average period may exceed minutes. No teacher shall be assigned supervision duties in excess of the number of minutes assigned in the school year subject to being assigned to another school. Supervision shall be assigned to teachers as per best practices as agreed to and established by the parties. Prior to the start of the Transfer Process, the Principal, in consultation with the teacher, shall determine the tentative assignment. Included in the matters to be considered by the Principal shall be the teacher’s preferences, qualifications and teaching experiences of the teacher. Itinerant teachers, teachers who travel to more than one school, shall have travel time exclusive of lunch, recess and planning time.
