ASE Certification Premium Sample Clauses
The ASE Certification Premium clause establishes an additional payment or bonus for employees who obtain and maintain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications. Typically, this clause outlines the specific certifications that qualify, the amount of the premium, and the process for verifying and awarding the premium, such as requiring proof of current certification. Its core function is to incentivize employees to achieve and retain professional certifications, thereby ensuring a higher standard of technical expertise within the workforce.
ASE Certification Premium. The Employer shall adopt the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification standards and compensate those covered by this appendix who qualify under such standards an additional twenty five cents ($.25) per hour per certificate for four (4) certification premiums per person during the term of this Agreement. If the employee becomes a Master School Bus Technician they shall receive compensation of two dollars ($2.00) per hour inclusive of any other ASE certificates held during the term of this Agreement. Once an employee obtains the Master School Bus Technician certification, the employee may earn up to two (2) additional ASE certifications, at twenty-five cents ($.25) each per hour, provided they are related to the work being performed by the District and agreed to in the Labor-Management Committee. The maximum premium that can be earned is two dollars and fifty cents ($2.50) per hour.

The ASE certifications 12 eligible for this annual stipend are listed as Attachment #1 to this agreement. An 13 additional stipend of six hundred twenty-five dollars ($625) will be paid annually 14 to all employees who obtain and maintain the Master School Bus Mechanic 15 Certification. 17 For initial certifications obtained after September 1 of any year, the certification 18 stipend will be pro-rated for the remaining months of the year and paid in the 19 month following certification. For continuing certifications, the stipend will be 20 paid in one lump sum on the September pay warrant.
