The Appointment System clause establishes the procedures and requirements for scheduling, managing, and confirming appointments between parties. Appointment System. Provider shall abide by the appointment availability access standards for core benefits and/or expanded services, when applicable, to ensure that Members’ needs are sufficiently met. Provider shall ensure that appointments are on a timely basis, as follows: (a) Routine, non-urgent or preventive care visits scheduled within six (6) weeks; (b) Urgent care visits within twenty-four (24) hours. Provider must provide or make arrangements, as directed by Company or through other arrangements, for a patient to obtain urgent care twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week; (c) Emergent or emergency visits immediately upon presentation at a service delivery site. Emergency Services must be available at all times; (d) Non-urgent sick care within seventy-two (72) hours or sooner if medical condition(s) deteriorates into an urgent or emergency condition; (e) In office waiting times for scheduled appointments should not routinely exceed forty-five (45) minutes, including time in the waiting room and examining room. If Provider is delayed, patients shall be notified immediately. If the wait is anticipated to be more than ninety (90) minutes, the patient shall be offered a new appointment;
