API Liability Sample Clauses
The API Liability clause defines the responsibilities and limitations of each party regarding damages or losses arising from the use of an application programming interface (API). Typically, this clause outlines the extent to which the API provider is liable for issues such as data breaches, service interruptions, or misuse of the API by third parties. It may also specify exclusions, such as not being responsible for indirect or consequential damages. The core function of this clause is to allocate risk between the parties and set clear boundaries on legal exposure, thereby protecting the API provider from excessive liability while informing users of their own responsibilities.
