Altimeter. Checks of the radar altimeter calibration will be undertaken above the base airstrip or some other suitable location with known elevation and flat terrain.
Altimeter. An instrument which determines altitude, or physical elevation. Usually pressure altitude can also be shown. A good reconditioned aircraft quality altimeter can be very accurate, but more expensive than a comparable quality barometer.
