Additional salary allowance. (See . a. Additional salary allowance for all certificated personnel in the amount of $15.00 for each semester hour of approved credit beyond degree shall be granted, provided that no credit be allowed for those hours required by Michigan law for continuing certification, and provided further that each course to be used in this plan have approval of the Superintendent of Schools. This rate is not retroactive. Four (4) semester hour blocks previously approved will continue to receive salary allowance in the amount of forty dollars ($40) per block. b. To be eligible for payment, teachers must submit evidence of additional hours of credit (grade cards or transcript) as follows: - on or before October 15 to receive full payment, or - on or before March 15 to receive one-half (1/2) payment. Teachers would receive such payment in one pay period at the end of the school year. c. No credit to be granted for undergraduate hours without prior approval of the Superintendent. Teacher is to fill out form describing course and giving reason for taking the course. Superintendent to give decision prior to course work. d. Pay for semester hours which apply to professions other than education (law, architecture, medicine, etc.). The amount of credit to be granted for courses taken which apply to non-educational professions to be determined by the review committee on an individual basis.
