Adding New. NDCs‌ If a PAP plan submits National Drug Codes (NDCs) that are covered at the beginning of the year but then identifies a new NDC that should be covered part-way through the year, then the plan should perform the following: • The PAP plan submits a coverage record with an effective date of 1/1/19 with two NDCs: NDC-1 and NDC-2. • On 3/1/19, coverage for NDC-3 should be added. • On the next monthly file submission (i.e., March), the PAP will send two (2) records: • An update with a 2/28/19 termination date for the original coverage record which contained NDC-1 and NDC-2. • A new coverage record with an effective date of 3/1/19 is submitted which includes NDC-1, NDC-2, and NDC-3.
