Actively at Work Conditions. 2.2.1 An Eligible Member, other than an Eligible Member referred to in Clause 2.2.2, must be at work attending to and capable of attending to all his normal duties on the first working day on which his Assurance is due to start. If he is not so at work, the commencement of his Assurance shall be delayed until he submits evidence of his good health and insurability to the Insurer which is satisfactory to the Insurer or until the Life Assured completes eight consecutive weeks service with his Employer without absence. An Eligible Member who is on authorised leave other than sick leave shall be deemed to be actively at work for the purposes of this Clause and for the purposes of Clause 2.2.5. 2.2.2 If an Eligible Member participated in the Fund immediately prior to the Commencement Date, then the provisions of Clause 2.2.1 are accordingly not applicable to him, the provisions of Clause 2.2.3 shall rather apply. 2.2.3 The actively at work conditions shall be waived by the Insurer in instances where a Life Assured is actively in the service of an Employer and has previously satisfied these provisions under a policy issued by any insurer who was insuring a similar or equivalent benefit immediately before the Commencement Date. These actively at work conditions may also be waived in other situations if agreed to in writing by the Insurer. 2.2.4 It is however specifically recorded that, in respect of future Total and Permanent Disability claims, the actively at work conditions will only be waived in the event of the Life Assured not being Totally and Permanently Disabled at the Commencement Date, nor in the Waiting Period pending acceptance of a Total and Permanent Disability claim under a policy issued by any insurer who was insuring a similar or equivalent benefit immediately before the Commencement Date. If the Date of Disability is prior to the Commencement Date, then liability or responsibility for the Total and Permanent Disability claim will not rest with the Insurer. 2.2.5 Should the amount of Assurance in respect of a Life Assured increase for any reason, he must be at work attending to and capable of attending to all of his normal duties on the date of the increase in the amount of his Assurance.
