Academic Integrity. GSEAUs shall report promptly to their Xxxx, Department Chair, designee, or equivalent teaching unit academic administrator, matters that require potential academic or non-academic disciplinary action against those individuals in their classroom(s) under applicable American University policies and procedures relating to academic integrity and codes of conduct. GSEAUs shall participate or cooperate, as appropriate, in any resulting disciplinary proceedings in accordance with those policies and procedures.

Academic Integrity. Cheating - the act of copying, taking another's assignments, giving another student your assignment, obtaining copies of exams or answers to exams in advance, giving or accepting another student’s answers to a test or quiz in advance, etc. - is conduct not in keeping with the Christian tradition of IC Catholic Prep. Plagiarism is presenting the work of another as your own. Plagiarism carries the same consequence as cheating. By its very nature, it violates the values for which we stand as an academic institution. Therefore, it will not be tolerated in any manner. Because of the serious nature of this violation, the following policy will be followed: All cases of cheating will be documented by the instructor who will give copies of materials to the Assistant Principal of Academics and Xxxx of Students. Students caught cheating may not be eligible for the National Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, class, or student council positions, or named a Monsignor Xxxxxxxx Distinguished Scholar. First offense of cheating on a test, quiz, or paper/project: The student will be provided an alternate assignment/assessment for up to, but not exceeding, 50% of the total points of the original test, quiz, or project. Parents will be notified of the incident by the instructor via a phone call. Second offense of cheating on a test, quiz, or paper/project: In the same course, the student will receive zero credit for the assignment, quiz, or test. Parents will be informed at a conference with administrators. If the cheating offense involves a different course, the incident will be referred to the Assistant Principal of Academics and the Xxxx of Students for a parent conference. Third offense of cheating on a test, quiz, or paper/project: The Assistant Principal of Academics and Xxxx of Students will review the student's record to make a recommendation to the Principal regarding receiving a failure for the quarter or semester in that course and the potential expulsion of the student. A parental conference may be scheduled with the Principal. Students who cheat on homework assignments, by either taking information or willingly giving information, will be subject to the respective teacher's policy on homework cheating. The teacher will maintain records of all instances of homework cheating; copies will be forwarded to the Assistant Principal of Academics and the Xxxx of Students.
