Common use of A “Year” Clause in Contracts

A “Year”. For the purposes of determining terms of employment and similar matters, a “Year” means a period of twelve months commencing at the date of employment in the Service or the anniversary of the date of commencing employment in the Service as the case may be. For the purposes of progression within a rank the date of the annual increment shall be the anniversary date of appointment to the rank and subsequent anniversaries.
