Special Leave means leave with pay granted to Permanent Employees as follows:
Special Leave. The City grants employees special leave in accordance with §16-17(c) of the Pittsfield City Code.

Special Leave. Each staff member has the right to request special leave periodically. All special leave will be negotiated with staff. Leave with pay can be accumulated at the rate of four weeks per year for personal and/or educational purposes, up to a maximum of twelve weeks. That is, no more than 12 weeks can ever be accumulated.
