Civic Leave definition

Civic Leave. A Member elected to public office shall be granted civic leave not to exceed two days per month. Such leave shall be without pay.

Civic Leave. Faculty members shall receive time off with pay for required appearances in 37 court or hearings resulting from a call to jury duty or subpoena to appear to testify where 38 the faculty member is not personally involved in the action as the plaintiff, the defendant, 39 or the object of the investigation.

Examples of Civic Leave in a sentence

  • Employees who have an appointment or appointments totaling one hundred and twenty (120) hours or more in an academic session and upon written request to the Chair/Director of the department in which they are employed, supported by a copy of the summons, shall be granted Civic Leave.
