Strengths. Dundee has achieved growth in the knowledge economy sectors in education, science and creative digital medial industries. Overall the number of jobs in the city rose by 3,000 between 2005 and 2008. Dundee is the regional employment, education and retail hub and 300,592 people live within a 30 minute drive time. The city has benefited from expanded Higher and Further Education institutions and a new award-winning retail centre. The public sector provides skilled employment for the city and is performing comparatively well based on positive service user satisfaction results and other comparable performance indicators. Dundee has a strong track record on environmental issues in relation to recycling and reducing the amount of waste going to landfill.

Strengths. The same FFQ was used in people with intellectual disabilities and controls. Moreover, we adjusted our analysis for potential confounders, and we analysed the potential effects of different severity levels among intellectual disabilities. Additionally, the data were collected in 76 locations from four intellectual disabilities care organisations and two forensic intellectual disabilities care organisations in the Netherlands, which increased the external validity.

Strengths. Backed by the expertise of each business’s original developer and operator provides a sustainable competitive advantage in the value we are able to offer customers with our market insights and strategy. Competitors who sell websites they know little to nothing about will not be able to provide equal support and guidance for their customers.
Strengths. This study included participants from three cities representing different regions of the United States of America, making it more representative of the country. This study did yield significant results in the association of taking PrEP with HIV testing intention. After adjusting for the other covariates, those taking PrEP were far more likely to indicate an intention to test for HIV again within the next 6 months (PR 17.13, p <0.0001). Additionally, this study found that Black MSM in this sample were significantly more likely to indicate an intention to test for HIV again within the next 6 months (PR 2.12, p = 0.04). Although this study yielded null results, it was the first, to the best of our knowledge, to study the association of type of last HIV testing site on intention to test again for HIV.
Strengths. A distinct advantage of the app is its prospective collection of data at the point of care, which potentially can provide the healthcare team the opportunity to deliver more personalized services when they are actually needed, thus the potential to improve the quality of life and health-related outcomes, reinforcing the tenets of palliative care. Using the app in a home setting (or away from a medical facility) is another potential benefit as patients and family caregivers’ desire and are motivated to self-manage their symptoms. Another benefit is the ability to offer services such as symptom assessment and to triage patients outside of business hours and/or outside of geographical boundaries. There is also the possibility that data entry mistakes might be reduced by allowing patients or family caregivers to enter the information directly at the point of care, and to transmit information (or keep notes) which can help strengthen communications between the patient and the healthcare team in times of stress. Another benefit the app may provide is the ability to nudge patients and caregivers in the direction of contemplating and making decisions about the type of care they wish to receive should they become incapacitated. Completing advance care directives and having these sets of documents available at any point of care would be invaluable to the healthcare team, and through the app it may be able to prompt much needed family discussions regarding these issues, further circumventing stress and anxiety to the family when a positive health outcome may not be possible. An effective smartphone app requires an understanding of the populations that will use it, and so to accommodate this the app must be capable of assigning roles to users. Representing the outward facing side will be the patients and family caregivers, and on the inward facing side the palliative care team. Each set of users will have unique sets of expectations, so all components of the app will need to be modeled incorporating their input to ensure the app’s overall use and functionality. Study Limitations Some of the respondents in the survey were concerned that use of the app by patients and family caregivers “may overwhelm the provider if too much information is collected, or may overwhelm the patient.” While record keeping, history and the ability to output reports are an asset, this may provide too much information for the healthcare team to effectively manage.
