For example: • You can purchase goods or pay for services and authorize a merchant or service provider to convert your check or draft into an electronic funds transfer. • At the time you offer a check or draft to a merchant or service provider, you may be asked to authorize the merchant or service provider to electronically collect a charge in the event the check or draft is returned for insufficient funds. Paying such a fee electronically is an electronic funds transfer. Your authorization to make these types of electronic funds transfers may be expressed in writing or implied through the posting of a sign. Unauthorized TransfersConsumer Liability Tell us AT ONCE if you believe your VISA Debit Card and/or Personal Identification Number (PIN) has been lost, stolen, used without your authorization, or otherwise compromised. A telephone call is the best way to reduce any possible losses. You could lose all the money in your account plus your maximum overdraft line of credit if applicable. If you tell us within two (2) business days after you discover your password or other means to access your account has been lost or stolen, your liability is no more than $50.00 should someone access your account without your permission. If you do NOT tell us within two (2) Business Days after you learn of such loss or theft, and we can prove that we could have prevented the unauthorized use of your password or other means to access your account if you had told us, you could be liable for as much as $500.00. If your periodic account statement contains transfers that you did not authorize, you must tell us at once. Electronic fund transfers include transfers of funds initiated through an electronic terminal, telephone, computer, or magnetic tape for the purpose of ordering, instructing, or authorizing a financial institution to debit or credit an Account. Examples of electronic fund transfers are automated teller machine (“ATM”), point-of-sale (“POS”), and Visa® Check Card transactions, direct deposits, pre-authorized withdrawals of funds, computer-initiated transactions, electronic check conversion transactions and telephone transfers.
