Benefits While on Parental Leave. Employees on parental leave may elect to continue Core Extended Health Care and Core Group Dental Coverage for the duration of their leave provided that they undertake to pay 50% of all premium costs of these benefits. Such employees may also elect to continue to contribute to the Local Authorities Pension Plan. If such an election is made the City of Lethbridge will also continue to make the required employer contributions during the period of absence.

Parental Supplemental Employment Benefit In order to be eligible for S.U.B. benefits an employee must be employed by the employer for at least one (1) year and be eligible for and receive E.I. benefits. Employees on parental leave will be entitled to supplemental employment benefits (SUB) for up to nineteen (19) weeks at 90% of their regular salary less the amount of Employment Insurance benefits received. The period of benefits nineteen (19) weeks may be taken by one parent or divided between the two parents. Employees on parental leave will be subject to the procedures described in Article 16.06(a) when claiming SUB benefits.

  • Maternity/Adoption/Parental Leave a) In accordance with the Saskatchewan Employment Act an employee shall be granted maternity, adoption, and/or parental leave of absence without pay.
