Disabilities definition

Disabilities means the same as definition of disability found in the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Disabilities means mental, cognitive, sensory, physical, or other disabilities covered by the federal 1020 Protection and Advocacy for Individuals with Mental Illness Act, the federal Developmental Disabilities 1021 Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, the federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, and such other 1022 related federal and state programs as may be established by federal and state law.
Disabilities as used in this Chapter means permanent anatomical, physiological or mental deficiencies that prevent or restrict normal achievement.

Examples of Disabilities in a sentence

  • For example, the Contractor must comply with section 274A of the Immigration and Nationality Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, if applicable, and all prohibitions against discrimination on the basis of race, religion, sex, creed, national origin, handicap, marital status, or veteran’s status.

  • Regarding Americans with disabilities, Contractor agrees to comply with applicable provisions of Title 1 of the Americans with Disabilities Act enacted in 1990 as may now exist or be amended in the future.

  • The Contractor shall be and remain in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“Act”), to the extent applicable, during the term of the Contract.

  • This definition shall be interpreted and applied consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other applicable law.

  • Party shall also ensure, to the full extent required by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, as amended, that qualified individuals with disabilities receive equitable access to the services, programs, and activities provided by the Party under this Agreement.

Disabilities means a physical, mental, cognitive, or developmental condition that impairs, interferes with, or limits a person's ability to engage in certain tasks or actions or participate in typical daily activities and interactions.
