Wales currently has its own NHS Direct service which is also available on 0845 4647 and the Department of Health and Social Services (“DHSS”) has confirmed that the core service description for 111 broadly describes the core service provided by the existing NHS Direct service in Wales.
Direct service is defined as supervision use of counseling, consultation, or related professional skills with actual clients (can be individuals, couples, families, or groups) for the purpose of fostering social, cognitive, behavioral, and/or affective change.
Direct service positions require complex combinations of skills—building rapport with a diverse range of people who have experienced trauma, navigating bureaucratic systems, and juggling these tasks for many clients concurrently—and providers have difficulty recruiting qualified workers.29Figure 4.
Direct service workers’ vehicles used in the delivery of services shall be in good working order.2. Proof of valid vehicle insurance is required to be on file in the employee personnel file if the provider is authorizing services to transport participants or perform shopping/errands in the company or personal vehicles.
If providers are utilizing EVV systems, paper time sheets are not needed.▪ Direct service workers are prohibited from smoking in participant’s homes.
