Cable Communications System definition

Cable Communications System or “System” means a system of antennas, cables, amplifiers, towers, microwave links, cable-casting studios, and any other conductor, converters, equipment or facili- ties designed and constructed for the purpose of producing, receiving, amplifying, storing, processing, or distributing audio, video, digital or other forms of electronic or electrical signals.
Cable Communications System or "System" means a system of antennas, cable, amplifiers, towers, microwave links, waveguides, laser beams, earth stations, or any other conductors, converters, equipment, or facilities, designed and constructed for the purpose of producing, receiving, amplifying, storing, processing or distributing audio, video, digital, or other forms of electronic or electrical signals.
Cable Communications System. , “Cable System” or “System” means a facility consisting of a set of closed transmission paths and associated signal generation, reception, and control equipment that is designed to provide Cable Service which includes video programming and which is provided to multiple Subscribers within a community.

More Definitions of Cable Communications System

Cable Communications System or “System” will have the meaning specified in the definition of “Cable System” in the Cable Act. In every case of its use in this Franchise, unless otherwise specified the term will refer to the cable system constructed and/or operated by the Grantee in the City under this Franchise.
Cable Communications System means a system of coaxial cables or other equipment used to originate or receive television or radio signals and to transmit them via cable to subscribers for a fee, and also including related services.

Cable Communications System. , "CABLE SYSTEM", OR "SYSTEM", shall mean a facility, consisting of a set of closed transmission paths and associated signal generation, reception, and control equipment that is designed to provide Cable Television Service which includes video programming and which is provided to multiple Subscribers within a community, but such term does not include (A) a facility that serves only to retransmit the television signals of one or more television broadcast stations; (B) a facility that serves Subscribers without using any Public Way; (C) a facility of a common carrier which is subject, in whole or in part, to the provisions of title II of the Cable Act, except that such facility shall be considered a Cable System (other than for purposes of Section 621(c)) to the extent such facility is used in transmission of video programming directly to Subscribers unless the extent of such use is solely to provide interactive on-demand services; (D) an open video system that complies with Section 653 of title VI of the Cable Act; or (E) any facilities of any electric utility used solely for operating its electric utility system. A cable system shall also mean a facility as described above which is located within the corporate limits of the City regardless of the location of the headend feeding such system.
Cable Communications System means any facility consisting of a set of closed transmission paths and associated signal generation, reception and control equipment that is designed to provide Cable Service which includes video programming and which is provided to multiple subscribers within a community, but such term does not include (A) a facility that serves only to retransmit the television Signals of one or more television broadcast stations; (B) a facility that serves subscribers without using any public right-of-way; (C) a facility of a common carrier which is subject, in whole or in part, to the provisions of Title II of the Communications Act of 1934, approved June 19, 1934 (48 Stat. 1070; 47 U.S.C. § 201 et seq.), as amended, except that such facility shall be considered a cable system (other than for purposes of Section 621(c) of the Cable Act (47 U.S.C. § 541(c)) to the extent such facility is used in the transmission of video programming directly to subscribers, unless the extent of such use is solely to provide interactive on-demand services; (D) an Open Video System that complies with Section 653 of the Cable Act (47 U.S.C. § 573) (or any successor thereto) and the rules promulgated thereunder; or (E) any facilities of any electric utility used solely for operating its electric utility systems. The foregoing definition of “Cable Communications System” shall not be deemed to circumscribe the valid authority of any governmental body, including the District, to regulate the activities of any other communications system or provider of communications services.
