Artifacts definition

Artifacts means any products generated, developed or used by a certificated teacher. Artifacts should not be created specifically for the evaluation system. Additionally, tools or forms used in the evaluation process may be considered as artifacts.
Artifacts means anything in physical or virtual form that provides data. Artifacts could include notes from observed practice and products or results of a classroom teacher’s work that demonstrates knowledge and skills of the educator with respect to the four-level rating system. Artifacts should not be created specifically for the evaluation system.

Artifacts should arise naturally from classroom instruction or practices and should not be created specifically for the evaluation system or at the direction of the evaluator. Additionally, tools or forms used in the evaluation process may be considered as artifacts. NOTE: It is recommended that artifacts will be minimally necessary as artifacts can be gathered through the observation process.
