Appointing Power definition

Appointing Power or “Appointing Authority” means the Fire Chief of the District who is vested by the Board of Directors with authority to appoint to any Civil Service position; discipline and dismiss employees; and set compensation subject to these rules, applicable labor agreements and law.

Appointing Power means the person vested by the Board of Directors with authority to appoint to or remove from any Civil Service position. Also known as Fire Chief or Assistant Chief in the event that the Chief is unable to fulfill their duties.
