Accepted Electrical Practices definition

Accepted Electrical Practices means those practices, methods and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the electric utility industry during the relevant time period, or any of the practices, methods and acts which, in the exercise of reasonable judgment and in light of the facts known at the time a decision is made, could have been expected to accomplish a desired result at reasonable cost consistent with good business practices, reliability, safety and expedition. Accepted Electrical Practices are not intended to be limited to the optimum practices, methods or acts to the exclusion of others, but rather to those practices, methods and acts generally accepted or approved by a significant portion of the electric utility industry in the relevant region, during the relevant time period, as described in the immediately preceding sentence.
Accepted Electrical Practices means those practices, methods, applicable codes and acts engaged in or approved by a significant portion of the electric power industry during the relevant time period, or any of the practices, methods and acts which, in exercise of reasonable judgment in light of the facts known at the time a decision is made, could have been expected to accomplish a desired result at reasonable cost consistent with good business practices, reliability, safety and expedition. Examples of Accepted Electrical Practices in a sentence

  • Seller shall perform or cause to be performed, at its expense, annual testing and calibration of the electric meters in accordance with Accepted Electrical Practices and the Tariff.

Accepted Electrical Practices means those practices, methods, standards, and equipment commonly used, from time to time, in electrical engineering and operations to operate electrical equipment with safety, dependability and efficiency and in accordance with the National Electrical Safety Code, the National Electrical Code and the standards of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers, the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, the North American Electric Reliability Council, the MidAtlantic Area Council, any regional power pool in which the Utility is a participant, and the American National Standards Institute and any other applicable statutes, codes, regulations and/or standards.
Accepted Electrical Practices means those practices, methods and acts that would be implemented and followed by prudent operators of electric energy generating facilities in the Western United States, similar to the Project, during the relevant time period, which practices, methods and acts, in the exercise of prudent and responsible professional judgment in the light of the facts known or that should reasonably have been known at the time the decision was made, could reasonably have been expected to accomplish the desired result consistent with good business practices, reliability and safety. Accepted Electrical Practices shall include, at a minimum, those professionally responsible practices, methods and acts described in the preceding sentence that comply with manufacturers’ warranties, restrictions in this Agreement, and the requirements of Governmental Authorities, WECC standards, the CAISO and Applicable Laws. Accepted Electrical Practices also includes taking reasonable steps to ensure that: Equipment, materials, resources, and supplies, including spare parts inventories, are available to meet the Project’s needs; Sufficient operating personnel are available at all times and are adequately experienced and trained and licensed as necessary to operate the Project properly and efficiently, and are capable of responding to reasonably foreseeable emergency conditions at the Project and emergencies whether caused by events on or off the Site; Preventive, routine, and non-routine maintenance and repairs are performed on a basis that ensures reliable, long term and safe operation of the Project, and are performed by knowledgeable, trained, and experienced personnel utilizing proper equipment and tools; Appropriate monitoring and testing are performed to ensure equipment is functioning as designed; Equipment is not operated in a reckless manner, in violation of manufacturer’s guidelines or in a manner unsafe to workers, the general public, or the PTO’s electric system or contrary to environmental laws, permits or regulations or without regard to defined limitations such as, flood conditions, safety inspection requirements, operating voltage, current, volt ampere reactive loading, frequency, rotational speed, polarity, synchronization, and control system limits; and Equipment and components are designed and manufactured to meet or exceed the standard of durability that is generally used for electric energy generating facilities operating in the Western United States and will function prop...
Accepted Electrical Practices or “Good Utility Practices” means those practices, methods, and acts generally employed or approved by a significant portion of the electric utility power generation industry in the relevant region of the United States of America during the relevant time period that, in the exercise of reasonable judgment in light of the facts known at the time the decision in question was being made, would have been expected to accomplish the desired result of such decision consistent with good electric utility power generation industry practices and the requirements of applicable Laws.
