SROs Sample Clauses
The SROs (Self-Regulatory Organizations) clause defines the obligations and responsibilities of the parties in relation to compliance with rules and requirements set by industry self-regulatory bodies. This clause typically requires parties to adhere to standards or directives issued by organizations such as FINRA or other relevant regulatory entities, and may obligate them to promptly notify each other of any inquiries or actions by these bodies. Its core practical function is to ensure that all parties remain in good standing with industry regulators, thereby reducing legal and reputational risks associated with non-compliance.
SROs may work off-duty jobs at school-approved functions, subject to APD guidelines and the wishes of the officer. SROs may be given first right of refusal for off-duty events involving their assigned school. Officers performing off-duty jobs for the District shall be paid by the District as independent contractors.
SROs acting as school officials, may request student records from a District administrator for legitimate educational purposes.
SROs shall participate as a Behavioral Threat Assessment ("BTA") Team Member at a BTA Meeting located at respective Participating DISTRICT Schools. As a BTA Team Member, the SRO may assist the school in gathering information, evaluating facts, and helping to make institutional determinations, such as whether a health or safety emergency exists, and how the school should respond.
SROs at their discretion and approval of command staff, may occasionally wear a “soft” uniform or plain clothes uniform.

SROs. MMSD shall notify the CITY in writing before the removal is to occur. Specifically said notice shall be provided by September 15, 2019, to effectuate a reduction on June 15, 2020 or June 10, 2020 to effectuate a reduction on January 1, 2021. The notice must include the name of the school that will no longer have a SRO assigned and the reason for said reduction. MMSD understands that the removal of a SRO from a school may result in reassignment of some or all of the remaining SORs among the remaining schools and that the assignments of the SROs shall be determined at the sole discretion of the CITY.
SROs may conduct investigatory stops or detentions of students on school property or at school sponsored events only when the officer has reasonable suspicion to believe that the student has been, is, or is about to be engaged in the commission of a crime. Absent exigent circumstances, such stops and detentions should follow the process outlined below in subsection xv.
SROs. SRO Deputies shall abide by the rules, regulations and policies of their respective agency and be familiar with the teacher handbook. Should conflicts in these rules, regulations and policies occur, the SRO/SRO Deputy will consult with their agency supervisor. School personnel should contact the Special Operations Supervisor to report commendable performance, discuss issues or report concerns involving SRO personnel.
