Shift Penalty. The annual Shift Penalty is the average weekly Shift Penalty contained in the roster, multiplied by 52 weeks for 7 Day Rosters and 43.6 for all other rosters. Shift Penalty. Rates The following loading/s apply to the base rate of pay for Officers who work shift work Monday to Friday For any shift where time is worked outside the 7.00am to 7.00pm spread of hours, a loading of 15% shift allowance will apply to all hours worked for those rostered hours. Saturday 50% loading applies to the entire shift that commences on a Saturday. Sunday 100% loading applies to the entire shift that commences on Sunday. The penalties specified apply from the time of commencing the shift. This applies even when the shift goes into the next day.
