Release Time/Compensation Clause Samples

The Release Time/Compensation clause defines the terms under which an individual is permitted to take time away from their regular duties, along with how they will be compensated during this period. Typically, this clause outlines the amount of paid or unpaid leave allowed, the activities for which release time may be granted (such as professional development or union activities), and the method of calculating compensation during the absence. Its core function is to ensure both parties understand the conditions and financial implications of time taken away from regular responsibilities, thereby preventing disputes and promoting transparency.
Release Time/Compensation. 1. Each mentor teacher shall be granted release time for mentoring activities. Release time shall be separate from any other release time covered under this Agreement and shall be coordinated by the building administrator. 2. In addition to the mutually agreed upon release time, each mentor teacher shall receive two hundred and fifty (250) dollars.
Release Time/Compensation. Adequate release time shall be granted to study applications, narratives and documents and to maintain the records mandated by the Master Teacher program. If members of the Master Teacher Committee determine to conduct some of their meetings/activities outside of the school year and/or school day, each member shall be compensated at the rate of .0007 of the BA base salary for each hour of MTC work.
Release Time/Compensation. Employees shall not be required to participate in the development of IEPs and/or attend IEP meetings beyond the hours of employment. Notification to participating teachers will be made one (1) working day before the meeting.

If members of the LPDC determine to conduct some of their meetings/activities outside of the school year and/or school day, each member shall be compensated at the rate of .0007 of the BA base salary for each hour of LPDC work.

The Lead Mentor/Coordinator shall be paid .0007 of the BA base salary per hour for time dealing with the Entry-Year/Mentoring Program spent outside of his/her regular instructional/duty periods and outside District Entry-Year/Mentoring Committee meetings. Total hours per school year are limited to forty (40) unless additional hours are approved by the Director of Human Resources.

If the Committee conducts meetings or activities outside of the school year and/or school day, each member shall be compensated at the rate of .00125 of the BA base salary for each hour of District Mentoring Committee work, up to fifteen (15) hours per school year. In lieu of the Mentor Committee Stipend, members may use hours toward their Professional Development commitment pursuant to Article 11(A)(7).

Release time shall be separate from any other release time covered under this Agreement and shall be coordinated by the building administrator. b. Notwithstanding any provision in the Master Agreement to the contrary, in addition to the mutually agreed upon release time, each peer teacher shall receive a stipend of five hundred ($500) dollars for each mentee. The stipend is to be paid upon verification of the completion of duties in June of that school year.

The payment is to be made in the second pay period of June of that school year provided all completed paperwork is submitted to the Treasurer’s Office by June 1. 3) The district will pay all training fees required for mentor teachers to be trained through the Ohio Department of Education Instructional Mentoring Program.
