The "New Schools" clause establishes the terms and conditions under which new educational institutions may be added to an existing agreement or arrangement. Typically, this clause outlines the process for including additional schools, such as notification requirements, approval procedures, and any adjustments to fees or services. For example, if a school district opens a new campus, this clause would specify how that campus becomes covered under the contract. Its core practical function is to provide a clear and efficient mechanism for expanding the scope of the agreement to accommodate organizational growth or changes, thereby preventing disputes and ensuring all parties understand how new entities are integrated.
New Schools. A When a new school is opened, the Board shall endeavor to fill all pending school principal positions before the deadline for bargaining unit member transfer requests to said new school, provided that the provisions of this paragraph are not subject to the grievance procedure of this Agreement.
New Schools. 1.1.1 The student bodies of the Wilmington Schools will be consolidated into two K-8 schools, one serving the east side of Wilmington (the “East Wilmington School”), and one serving the west side of Wilmington (the “West Wilmington School”).
New Schools. 17.9.1 All teaching positions at a new school site shall be filled initially by utilizing the interview and select procedures of the voluntary transfer process in 17.4 with the modification that the two (2) teachers shall be selected by the Association and be from surrounding schools of the same grade levels as the new school. For new high schools, the District has the option to also add a student representative.
New Schools a. The DOE and the UFT will develop an alternative process for the creation of new schools that are proposed by either teachers and parents.
b. These schools can be proposed in addition to the 200 PROSE Program Schools and if approved in accordance with the agreed upon procedures will have the same flex- ibility with regard to Chancellor’s regulations and work rules as PROSE Program Schools.
New Schools. Locations
New Schools. Teacher positions at new schools upon their opening shall be filled as follows:
1. Notwithstanding the other requirements of this Article, the District may fill up to forty percent (40%) (rounded up to the next whole number) of the teaching positions upon the opening of new schools by new hires.
2. Out of all qualified candidates, involuntary transfers to fill positions at new schools at their opening shall be based on inverse seniority, except when a teacher with less seniority must be retained in order to meet identifiable program needs at the sending school. When a teacher is retained under the above exception, the Union will be provided with a written explanation of the identified program needs requiring such exception.
3. Teachers transferred involuntarily to fill positions at new schools at their opening and who subsequently apply for voluntary transfers to posted vacancies in the schools from which they were transferred shall have first consideration for such transfers in the order in which they were involuntarily transferred, provided they make such requests in writing and are certified and qualified for the vacant position.
4. Should the procedures outlined above not completely staff the new schools, the District may employ those new hires necessary to complete the staffing.
New Schools. If PCS opens another school or campus, all certificated employees working in any such new school or campus shall be included in the bargaining unit and represented by United PCS as the exclusive representative.
New Schools. All counseling positions at a new secondary school will be filled initially by utilizing the interview and selection provisions. and the selection committee as defined by 7.2.4.3 and 7.2.4.5 7.2.7.7
New Schools. So long as BCCHS is the public school employer in any new school(s), new campus or expansion of BCCHS, any certificated staff working as employees of BCCHS shall be covered by this collective bargaining agreement.
New Schools. (a) At least one-third (1/3) of the positions in a new school may be filled by new appointments.
(b) Achievement of the objective of racial balance in faculty in a new school will have priority for both appointments and transfers to such school.
