Local Hiring. Article 5, Subtitle 27 of the Baltimore City Code, as amended (the “Local Hiring Law”) and its rules and regulations apply to every contract for more than $300,000 made by the City, or on its behalf, with any person. The Local Hiring Law also applies to every agreement authorizing assistance valued at more than $5,000,000 to a City-subsidized project. If applicable, and not otherwise prohibited by the applicable funding requirements, the Local Hiring Law and the Local Hiring Rules and Regulations shall be attached hereto as Exhibit G and incorporated herein.

Local Hiring. Owner agrees to use its reasonable efforts to hire qualified City residents for jobs at the Project. Owner shall also use reasonable efforts to retain the services of qualified contractors and suppliers who are located in the City or who employ a significant number of City residents. At least 20 percent of the Project’s workforce shall consist of residents of the City. Job announcements shall be posted at City Hall, along with proof that the job announcements were advertised in at least two newspapers published, printed or distributed in the City and on various social media sites accessible to the general public. In addition, Owner shall make a good faith effort to advertise job announcements at local job fairs, on local radio and through public agencies and organizations such as but not limited to the Riverside County Workforce Development Center and the Desert Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce.
Local Hiring. Owner agrees to use its reasonable efforts to hire qualified City residents for jobs at the Project. Owner shall abide by all local hiring commitments provided in the Owner Commitment to Community Benefit Program in Exhibit C
Local Hiring. A local hiring program shall be implemented within the Project in accordance with Exhibits “F-1” and “F-2”.

Local Hiring. 8.301 Where an Employer has contracted work at a location other than where their registered office of business is located and where qualified members of the Union reside, such Employer shall give hiring preference to those local residents based upon the ratio of three (3) local Employees for every one (1) Employee from Employer’s own forces.
Local Hiring. The Unions and Contractors are bound by the requirements of Administrative Code Chapters 6, 12B, 14B, 82 and 83, as they may be amended from time to time, including but not limited to the provisions addressing Local Hire and Local Business Enterprises. Specifically, the parties to this Agreement support increasing the number of skilled construction workers from City residents to fulfill the needs of Covered Projects, as provided under San Francisco Administrative Code §6.22(G), as it may be amended from time to time. Under their Contracts with the City, Contractors will be required to comply with Administrative Code §6.22(G). The Unions will support the Contractors’ efforts. The Unions agree, to the extent permitted by law, to encourage the referral and utilization in hiring hall procedures of qualified City residents as journeymen and apprentices to work on Covered Projects.
Local Hiring. Article 16.1 of the existing PLA shall be modified with the additional language that follows: The agreement will allow placement” of graduates of the District’s construction related training programs into union apprenticeship programs, along with District students who may be graduates of other pre-apprenticeship programs such as the Cypress Xxxxxxx Training Center, provided that they meet the minimum requirements of the applicable Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. The agreement will focus on the disadvantaged population in the District service area as a first source for direct placement. “Disadvantaged Population” shall mean Local Area Residents of the District’s six cities: Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Piedmont and especially the City of Oakland who meet at least one of specified criteria, including but not limited to: household income below 50% of the Alameda County median, non-minor dependent youth, homeless, welfare recipients, have a history of involvement with the criminal justice system, are unemployed, or a single parent. To assure mutual satisfaction in quality of training, the BTC and the applicable trades will partner closely with the District’s training programs in an officially recognized advisory capacity.
